Warrior Testimonials

I am glad that you were able to read what I wrote, because it's Gods Honest Truth! Yourself along with Gen. Sisco, and all the many sponsors who have done nothing but raise the hopes and wishes of all soldiers across this nation who have made a sacrifice in order to keep and maintain order and peace in our great nation. I could never repay you nor say enough times just how much spending a weekend away from the hospital and all the appointments we make daily just to spend a moment away, with people like you who make us feel whole again for a few days. I really can't put it all into words, but THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. I look forward to keeping in touch with yourself and all the new friends that I had the opportunity to make which just extend into a much bigger family. I again told Mrs. Ross that if you all ever had any other trips or hunts that were available for me to attend or even if you all thought about doing a Youth Hunt, I would be greatly interested. I know that soldiers apply from all over the nation for limited seats and everyone should get at least one chance to attend, but if you ever have an opening or a last minute seat please let me know. I will do anything to help you out and fill that position. Back to the Youth Hunts! I have been here for almost 10 months and my wife and I have been fighting the issue of what can be done for the youth of our Wounded Warriors. We prepare the families for deployments and we prepare them for the great homecomings, but we fall short and fail to prepare these children, babies for what happens to a loved one when they return from Iraq or Afghanistan and are severely wounded, burned, or an amputee. My 16 year old son only wants to spend time with me one on one and go hunting. I haven't hunted for 15 years until I was blessed and had the chance to go on a hunt with you and your sponsors. If you have any pull or want a fresh idea to raise some eyes of awareness. It is for our CHILDREN!!!! Well! I have talked enough and look forward to talking to you again soon. I said that not only have we made new friends, but we have made new families as well. THANK YOU!!!

The "Spouses Day Out" was wonderful. It was great to be able to have the
ability to do something just for ourselves. Our days since our husbands
injuries only consist of wound care, therapies, doctors appointments,
planning next surgeries, the stress of everyday life, our children, and
keeping our husbands spirits up. Our husbands are strong but we play an
important role day in and day out keeping them going and letting them know
there will be a life after the military. To be able to not worry about
everything for a day was indescribable. It was fun, stress free, and to
have the chance to go to a spa was wonderful in itself! I hope that
everyone that went also had such a wonderful time as I did. I appreciate
all the people that even put the day together. I know that took some time,
effort and stress too. Thank you all very much and I hope the wives and
mothers in the next group that get to go enjoy it too.

Thank you very much!

I am a mom of an injured soldier and want to thank the Military Warriors Organization and all those involved in the concert, hunting trip and the spouses/mom's day out. We all know life will never be the same but it can be even better than it was. This takes a lot of work, mentally and physically, and really cannot be done alone. Sometimes it is hard to make these heroes realize this so they can accept support. That is why family, friends, and organizations like Military Warriors are so important. No one can be forgotten. When I learned the activities planned for us --concert, hunting trip and spouse/mom day out, I was just amazed. That is what we need-relief and relaxation. Also, to put these wounded heroes into situations where it builds their confidence in their abilities is priceless. Our world for four and a half months had been surviving and then recovering with rehab 6 to 7 hours a day, doctor appointments, lab work, x-rays, waiting for results, and reevaluations. And, of course, we are all away from home without our usual support systems in place. I never go to concerts, so being able to go see Clay Walker was awesome. We were treated so special with great food, people greeting us and showing us the around like we were celebrities. Clay Walker and all the other speakers had very nice and sincere things to say. The people who sat at our table really cared and were interested in what had happened and how we were managing life away from home and the future of our loved one. Our spouse/mom day out truly "took us away". Janet was the best; I hope she didn't have to hard a time keeping track of us. We laughed a lot, talked about things other than wounds and rehab, although we did take time to learn each other's stories. The people at the Aveda Institute were great and pampered us with manicures, pedicures, facials, make up and hair styling. Then we were able to do our favorite thing, shopping. So between eating, being pampered and shopping (with guilt-free money), I was truly able to get into the day and feel relaxed; knowing that my son was probably having the time of his life hunting, made it even better. Everyone seemed to have a great time, and we all know we were blessed to be given this opportunity.

Thank you again,

Brenda Phillips
