While serving in Iron Company, 3rd Squadron (‪#‎Wolfpack‬), 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment (‪#‎Dragoons‬) and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal with Valor for rescuing nine of his fellow soldiers while under extreme duress and with his Stryker vehicle disabled.
