2019: A Year in Review

It’s 2020! Before we can truly plan future successes and positive changes, we must take a look back at 2019. For Military Warriors Support Foundation, 2019 was a busy year!  The MWSF family was able to touch the lives of over 300 people through our various programs. Whether it was putting a Hero or Gold Star and their family into a mortgage-free home, or sending combat-wounded veterans and Gold Star spouses on outdoor adventures, we reached new milestones through the organization.

We’ve been able to make positive impacts in the lives of many of our heroes this year, though some events stand out in particular.

Throughout the year:

We attended nearly a dozen George Strait concerts where we were able to honor our Heroes by awarding them mortgage-free homes onstage, in front of a roaring crowd of concertgoers!

Our team was at the Valero Texas Open in San Antonio with a bunch of our heroes back in April! Leadership4Life (L4L) was on the scene for part of the L4L program, there was a veterans breakfast and 5k, and we awarded a mortgage-free home to retired U.S. Army Sergeant First Class Tiffany Skelton!

We were able to award our 2nd Medal of Honor Recipient, former U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Clint Romesha, a mortgage-free home for his family!

We were at the Braden Bailess Memorial Golf Tournament! Braden’s parents, Doug and Claudia Bailess, are great friends of the foundation and we were proud to honor one of our heroes at the annual tournament they host in honor of their son.

It’s always a good year when we can participate in, not one but, two Turkeys for Troops events in Texas! We were in Corpus Christi and Boerne this year, helping hand out free turkeys to Service Members and veterans, as well as honoring some of our heroes by awarding them mortgage-free homes!

As always, we try to create plenty of opportunities for our Heroes to experience new things or enter new chapters in their lives!

Every event is unique, especially to our Heroes that attend. For us, it’s a special chance to give back to our veteran community and honor our Heroes. Without the support of our donors, none of the things we do would be possible. To every one of the organizations and companies that donate assets, time, and money, and to every individual who supports us by donating or helping us get the word out: we are grateful for each and every one of you. You help us to reach more people, and as a result, to help more Heroes. It is through your continued support that we here at Military Warriors Support Foundation not only believe but know in our hearts that 2020 will be our greatest year yet for supporting combat-wounded veterans and Gold Star spouses! If you’d like to learn more about our programs, please visit militarywarriors.org, or feel free to reach out to us with any questions you may have!

With that, we ring in the New Year by reflecting on words from one of our MWSF family members.

Together, we can accomplish what we can only individually dream.
