Wells Fargo and Rairdon’s Honda of Burien sponsor vehicle donation to Military Warriors Support Foundation for combat-wounded veteran at The Museum of Flight

Former U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 2 Lucas Thompson awarded a payment-free vehicle on Veterans Day

As part of its ongoing commitment to make positive contributions to the communities it serves, Wells Fargo, in collaboration with Rairdon’s Honda of Burien and Military Warriors Support Foundation, presented a payment-free vehicle to former U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 2 Lucas Thompson on Veterans Day at The Museum of Flight.Wells Fargo and Rairdon’s Honda of Burien sponsored the donation of a new 2020 Honda Passport for Military Warriors Support Foundation’s Transportation4Heroes program, which awards payment-free vehicles and provides one-year of family and financial mentorship to combat-wounded veterans and Gold Star families to help ease the transition from the military to civilian life.“On behalf of Military Warriors Support Foundation, we thank Wells Fargo and Rairdon’s Honda of Burien for helping us award former U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 2 Lucas Thompson and his family with a brand new, payment-free 2020 Honda Passport,” said Ken Eakes, Executive Director for Military Warriors Support Foundation. “We also want to thank The Museum of Flight for supporting our program and inviting us to celebrate Veterans Day together. We are thrilled that our work together can continue helping more of our nation’s combat-wounded heroes and Gold Star families and making a difference for generations to come.”Lucas Thompson grew up in Oregon and joined the Army in 2008. After a year of training, he was deployed to Afghanistan and served as an Airborne Infantryman with Attack Company, 1-503rd Infantry Regiment and 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team. In 2012, he attended Rotary Wing training and graduated Advanced Airframe before receiving orders to serve as a Kiowa Warrior Pilot with 6th Attack Reconnaissance Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment at Fort Wainwright. In 2014, he was deployed to Korea, where he flew peacekeeping and multinational training missions, maintained and accounted for aviation-based communication equipment and served as a Troop Physical Training Officer. After serving for seven years, he was honorably discharged and received many awards for his service and sacrifice including a Combat Infantryman Badge, Army Achievement Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star and more.
