MWSF Benefit Dinner at the Brazos River Sportsman’s Club Raises over $173,000

FULSHEAR, TX (June 30, 2021) – Military Warriors Support Foundation attended the Brazos River Sportsman’s Club for dinner and a live auction fundraiser. This event, a first for MWSF, raised money for the Skills4Life program. In addition, this event was scheduled to include a shootout, however, due to weather that portion of the event is being rescheduled. The Skills4Life program has helped many Wounded Heroes and Gold Star Families attend and participate in events throughout the year.Brazos River Sportsman's Club and the owner Leigh John Bentley showed their support by hosting the event. This club features a 10-lane pistol range, several rifle ranges (25, 52, 100, and 200 yards), tactical training, clay shoots and women's-only training. With enough space, the club can host a small or large event that can fit any reasonable needs.A dinner and live auction was held at Anthonie’s Market Grill. Anthonie Dekker, the proprietor, is a Dutch-born chef who has had the pleasure of cooking for many notable individuals. In addition, Bubba Strait, Kyle Park, John Michael Whitby and Jason Roberts made an appearance and performed for everybody that attended. This band has strong ties to George Strait, a supporter of Military Warriors Support Foundation. With George Strait's help, MWSF has presented homes and vehicles to Heroes and Gold Star Spouses on stage. The dinner and auction at Anthonie’s was a tremendous success and raised over $173,000.The Skills4Life Program began in 2007 and currently provides recreational outdoor experiences and mentorship. Skills4Life programs are open to combat-wounded veteran Heroes and Gold Star Spouses. Various gatherings throughout the year – such as the Shootout on the Brazos - allow organizers to support the Heroes and their families. Some events are even developed for these Heroes' children and spouses. With events and support from Leigh John Bentley and Anthonie Dekker, Skills4 Life will be able to continue their support for Heroes and Gold Star Families. If you or someone you know would like to apply, please visit our website at: https://militarywarriors.org
