Bank of America and Military Warriors Support Foundation Present Mortgage-Free Home to Gold Star Wife of United States Army Sergeant Ricky Jones (KIA) in Enterprise, Alabama.
Fredda Jones, Gold Star Wife of United States Army Sergeant Ricky Jones (KIA), received the keys to her renovated home in Enterprise, Alabama. The home is being donated mortgage-free by Military Warriors Support Foundation in partnership with Bank of America.U.S. Army Sergeant Ricky Jones (KIA) was born in Selma, Alabama, and grew up in Plantersville, Alabama. He joined the military in 2003. He was a member of the 1st Maneuver Enhancement Brigade of Fort Polk, Louisiana. While deployed to Bagram, Afghanistan he was killed in action of wounds sustained by indirect fire on Father’s Day June 21, 2009. Ricky received the Purple Heart (Posthumous), Bronze Star Medal (Posthumous), and Army Achievement Medal with Two Oak Leaf Clusters. The surviving Gold Star family will receive a mortgage-free home in Enterprise in honor of his ultimate sacrifice.In 2020, Bank of America celebrated 100 years of service to the military, a tradition that started in July 1920 when the company began providing financial services and products for service members and their families at the Fort Sam Houston base in Texas. Bank of America operates overseas military banking facilities in 10 countries, including 62 financial centers and 274 ATMs. The company also recently surpassed its five-year goal to hire 10,000 veterans, National Guard, and reservists. This hiring goal was set to address the unique challenges military personnel face in finding employment after service.
