Skills4Life & Smith Industries Honor our Veterans with a Fishing Trip of a Lifetime
On June 23-26 Skills4Life joined forces once again with Smith Industries and took out 8 combat-wounded veterans for a fishing trip on Lake Amistad in Del Rio, Texas. Fishing was done from bass boats and each boat had a guide. Each veteran drew for a boat captain for each day fishing. Over the course of 2 days there were hundreds of Largemouth bass caught and released. After a day of fishing the veterans enjoyed dinner with Bass Fishing Hall of Famer Denny Brauer. All travel, lodging, meals, and fishing tackle was provided for this event.
A special thanks to Bassmaster Elite Fisherman Ray Hanselman for coordinating all the boat captains and Joe Elder for providing the Skills4Life crew with a beautiful place to stay. Skills4Life Fishing events provide a great opportunity for all ages, skills levels, and physical abilities. It's a way for our veterans to bond with each other and develop relationships and support one another.
