Skills4Life & Smith Industries Honor our Veterans with a Fishing Trip of a Lifetime

On June 23-26 Skills4Life joined forces once again with Smith Industries and took out 8 combat-wounded veterans for a fishing trip on Lake Amistad in Del Rio, Texas. Fishing was done from bass boats and each boat had a guide. Each veteran drew for a boat captain for each day fishing. Over the course of 2 days there were hundreds of Largemouth bass caught and released. After a day of fishing the veterans enjoyed dinner with Bass Fishing Hall of Famer Denny Brauer. All travel, lodging, meals, and fishing tackle was provided for this event.
A special thanks to Bassmaster Elite Fisherman Ray Hanselman for coordinating all the boat captains and Joe Elder for providing the Skills4Life crew with a beautiful place to stay. Thanks to all our donors and to Chris Smith of Smith Industries for their continued support and for helping to make this event special for all our heroes.
Skills4Life Fishing events provide a great opportunity for all ages, skills levels, and physical abilities. It's a way for our veterans to bond with each other and develop relationships and support one another.
