A Veteran Says Thank You!

The Military Warriors Support Foundation (MWSF) exists to provide support for our nation's combat wounded heroes as they transition out of the military and into their new civilian life.This is a very fragile time for these heroes, and their families, and it is our goal to provide programs that facilitate a smooth and successful transition.One of our home recipients wanted to express their gratitude for MWSF and everything our programs have done for him.His name is Matthew Whipple, he was served in two branches of the United States Armed Forces. He served in the U.S. Army at a rank of Specialist and in the U.S. Navy as a rank of Petty Officer - 2nd Class. He was awarded numerous awards of honor; the Army Commendation Medal, Army Combat Action Badge, Army Expert Badge for Marksmanship, Navy Combat Action Ribbon and the Navy Expert Medal for pistol and rifle.Whipple was with the 3rd Infantry Division, 2/69 Armor Battalion, HHC Company, Scout Platoon when he received word that his unit would be deployed to Iraq. It was in Iraq when he encountered 5 direct hits from IEDs while in his M2 Bradley and while positioned at a Forward Operating Base he was constantly under enemy fire from mortars and direct fire from insurgents.

I will never forget the day I received the call from the Military Warriors Support Foundation, informing me that my kids and I would have a home of our own awarded to us. That special call came 3 years ago.

I was so excited about the prospect of owning my own house, but never did I ever believe so much more would come out of the MWSF family and financial mentoring program.I was given a financial adviser who truly helped me find ways to bring down my personal debt, while also teaching me how to take care of a house.

My financial advisor became a great friend in the 3 year MWSF mentorship program. That 3 years has come and gone so fast.My family and I now own our house and feel so accomplished. We will always be grateful to the MWSF for their generosity and time in helping us get back on our feet financially and emotionally.Best of luck to future veteran recipients and thank you for all you sacrificed for this great country!
